The Daisy Programis designed to say thank you to the nursing profession, as truly "unsung heroes", honoring the super-human work nurses perform at the bedside every day. Nurses are recognized with the "The Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses" and other gifts as well receive name recognition with MSN, our clients and the Daisy Foundation. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. In 1999 the Foundation was formed by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who at age 33 died of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The DAISY Foundation was established to keep Patrick's spirit alive. In Patrick's memory his family started The Daisy Program to recognize the skillful and amazingly compassionate care he received from his nurses. The award is in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and has the support of The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program. MSN is proud to be one of the few organizations participating in The Daisy Program, recognizing nurses from around the country every month. Medical Staffing Network is Joint Commission Certified In October 2010, MSN was once again awarded the Certificate of Distinction for Healthcare Staffing Services by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (Joint Commission), the nation's oldest and largest health care accrediting body. Medical Staffing Network was one of the pioneering nurse staffing agencies to be certified when the Joint Commission first began reviewing healthcare staffing organizations in 2005. We received the Joint Commission's "Gold Seal of Approval" as a symbol of quality for meeting its high performance standards in ensuring quality of patient care. What does Joint Commission certification mean to you? Our Joint Commission Health Care Staffing Services certification is evidence of our ongoing commitment to remaining a leader in the nurse staffing industry, and to our commitment to uphold and advance the nursing profession's practices. It also means more nursing opportunities for you. Because of our Joint Commission certification, hospitals and other healthcare facilities know they can trust MSN and its nurses to be committed to quality patient care and safety. And that translates to more orders for MSN, more nursing jobs for you. In short, Joint Commission certification means that you can trust MSN to be as committed to quality patient care as you are. We're held accountable to them, and to our nurses, so you can be proud and confident that when you join the MSN team, you'll be part of a company that prizes quality, safety, and service above all else.
