Executive Leadership

Dr. Brian R. Poplin, FACHE- President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Poplin has held senior level executive positions ranging from Vice President, to President and Chief Executive Officer at healthcare management and medical technology organizations since 2003. His past corporate leadership positions have included ARAMARK Healthcare Technology Services and ARAMARK Healthcare. In particular, he has provided leadership for sales and management teams as well as operations – although he has roots in medical technology engineering and related technology services.

With a strong commitment to helping healthcare organizations successfully navigate a changing regulatory and economic landscape, Dr. Poplin is particularly interested in aiding hospitals to strike the right balance between fixed and variable staffing. Furthermore, Dr. Poplin has aspired to elevate the organization's commitment to nurse appreciation and recognition.

Dr. Poplin earned his Doctor of Health Administration & Policy at the Medical University of South Carolina and holds both a Master of Science in business management and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is board certified in healthcare management, a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and a member of the standards council for the Commission on the Accreditation of Health Management Education. His professional affiliations have included the Coalition to Protect America’s Healthcare, MUSC College of Health Professions (Public Advisory Board), American College of Healthcare Executives, Frontiers of Health Services Management (Editorial Board), North Carolina Biomedical Association (President & Board of Directors), Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, and the American College of Clinical Engineering. Dr. Poplin is an active presenter in the healthcare industry and author of numerous publications.

Ruth Wallace, CPA- Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Wallace brings more than 25 years of operational and financial leadership in the healthcare and service industries to Medical Staffing Network. Prior to joining MSN, Ms. Wallace served as President of Sanovia Corp.; President of Optimal Billing Solutions; CFO of Proscan Imaging; and CFO of Aperture Credentialing. She spent 10 years in public accounting with KPMG and is a licensed CPA. As CFO of Medical Staffing Network, Ms. Wallace is responsible for the overall financial performance and strategic direction of the company to best serve our customers and the healthcare market. Ms. Wallace earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Louisville.

Rodger Hochman- General Counsel

Mr. Hochman is a seasoned attorney with nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  Throughout his career, he has worked collaboratively with senior leadership and clinical and business unit heads, while providing responsive, impactful and supportive legal guidance and business counsel.  Mr. Hochman is Board Certified as a specialist in Health Law, the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in this area of law.  Practicing in both firm-based and in-house settings, he has served as general counsel for publicly-traded and private-equity owned companies and has represented hospitals, practitioners, management companies, vendors and a variety of other clients within the health care industry in contractual, regulatory, operational and compliance matters.  Mr. Hochman is fluent in a broad range of healthcare legal matters and business relationships, including M&A, JVs, outsourcing, medical staff issues, professional service relationships, Medicare compliance, HIPAA/HITECH and other current health care industry challenges.  He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and also serves on the Executive Council of The Florida Bar Health Law Section.  Mr. Hochman holds a doctorate of law from Nova Southeastern University and an undergraduate degree from Boston University.

Greg Roney- Chief Information Officer
Mr. Roney’s has more than 15 years of leadership experience in information technology. He and his team drive forward-leaning IT operations at Medical Staffing Network, advancing the Company’s efforts in the healthcare staffing market. Prior to joining MSN, Mr. Roney served in the U.S. Congress, overseeing pressing legislative matters for elected members, and has pioneered the delivery of IT services currently in use today at the U.S. House of Representatives. Mr. Roney earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University.


Operational Leadership

Peggy Donelan- Executive Vice President

Ms. Donelan has more than 30 years of clinical, sales and branch management experience. She oversees branch operations for the Western region of the United States. Prior to joining Medical Staffing Network, she was Area Vice President at Gentiva Health Services, where she managed multi-site locations with annual revenues exceeding $40 Million, and Director of Respiratory Care at Citizens Medical Center. Ms. Donelan earned a Bachelor of Arts in health care management from Ottawa University and an Associate of Science in respiratory therapy from Wichita State University.

Hank Drummond- Executive Vice President
Mr. Drummond’s background consists of more than 25 years of healthcare administration expertise, with deep-rooted clinical experience as a practicing nurse. Prior to joining Medical Staffing Network, he was Executive Director of Nursing Services and Quality Initiatives of the Miami Jewish Health Systems, where he oversaw a multimillion dollar budget and a large, multi-disciplinary staff. Mr. Drummond's primary responsibilities included ensuring that the nursing staff provided quality care at all times, and evaluating and implementing new programs to enhance the level of care at MJHS. Prior to joining Miami Jewish, Mr. Drummond was the Director of Nursing Services for Catholic Health Services, a 300-bed combined facility. Other roles in his illustrious career include Pastor and Developer for the Florida-Georgia District of the Lutheran Church, Nursing Instructor at Montana State University and Director of Critical Care, and Nursing Administrator roles at several Indiana hospitals. Mr. Drummond earned a Master of Divinity from Concordia, a Bachelor of Arts in healthcare administration from Ottawa University and a diploma in registered nursing from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. He is the President of FADONA for Miami-Dade County and is ranked among Who's Who in American Nursing.
Kathy DeGiovanni- Senior Vice President
Ms. DeGiovanni has more than 25 years of clinical and staffing experience. She is responsible for the daily operations of MSN's Westchester, Bronx and New York City, New York offices. Prior to joining Medical Staffing Network in 2001, Ms. DeGiovanni was Regional Manager for Kimberly Quality Care and was President/Owner of Excel Staffing Services, the largest healthcare staffing agency in Westchester County, New York.

Marisa Zaharoff, MSN, RN- Senior Vice President of Performance Outcomes
Ms. Zaharoff has more than 15 years of nursing, quality improvement, sales, operational and branch management experience. She is responsible for maintaining MSN’s Joint Commission Health Care Staffing Certification and has oversight of clinical quality measures, serving as Chair of MSN’s Clinical Quality Council. Prior to being acquired by Medical Staffing Network in 2007, she was Clinical Director at AMR ProNurse in Chicago, IL. Ms. Zaharoff earned a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurses Executives, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Nurses Association.

Dave Stillmunkes- Senior Vice President of Operations

Mr. Stillmunkes brings over 15 years of healthcare experience to Medical Staffing Network. As Vice President of Operations, he oversees MSN’s travel allied, anesthesiology, advanced practice, clinical research and pharmacy specialty offerings, in addition to a number of per diem nursing branch locations throughout the Midwest. Prior to joining MSN, he worked as a registered nurse for the Chicago Institute of Neuroresearch and Neurosurgery within Columbus Hospital and The Michaelsen Healthcare Center. Mr. Stillmunkes earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Illinois State University and also holds a Certified Temporary Specialist (CTS) designation.

Joel McMains- Vice President of Nurse Travel
Mr. McMains has more than 30 years in healthcare leadership experience in both the private and government sectors. He is acknowledged as an industry expert in the area of healthcare operations and contracting. Prior to joining Medical Staffing Network, Mr. McMains was Senior Vice President and COO of Sterling Healthcare Inc., as well as Vice President of Network Development and Operations at Medical Services Company (MSC). He also served as Director of Contracting for Humana and an advisor for the Air Force Surgeon General's Office. Mr. McMains earned a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of Louisville School Of Business, is a Certified Professional Contract Manager and Fellow in the National Contract Management Association.

Functional Leadership

Kimberly Jones, PHR- Vice President of Human Resources
Ms. Jones's experience in human resources spans more than 15 years in a variety of multi-site environments and industries, the last six of which in the healthcare industry. As Vice President of Human Resources, she is responsible for ensuring MSN has the strategy, resources and tools to attract and retain top talent within the staffing industry, while maximizing the capabilities, talent and potential of the existing workforce. Ms. Jones previously held the role of Vice President of Human Resources at Comprehensive Wellness Services, Inc., one of Florida's largest privately held home healthcare agencies.  She earned an associate’s degree in legal studies, the professional designation of Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and is a licensed health and annuities agent in the state of Florida.
